Here we have this superb George I style set of 8 dining chairs made of mahogany.
 
These chairs would have been made in a prestigious cabinetmakers workshop using a design from the George I period.
 
The set consists of 2 armchairs and 6 matching side chairs.
 
Each chair has shaped drop-in seats, these are easy and not expensive to re-cover if ever you require to do so.
 
The pair of armchairs/carvers have a shaped carved top-rail and the wonderful carved and pierced central back-splat of waisted shape. The chairs stand on elegant cabriole legs, that are finely carved at the knee and finish on hairy paw feet.
 
The magnificent armchairs with the sept out arm rests and the cared mythical beast hand grips.
