This is an early 1800s mahogany housekeeper''s box. It has a carrying handle, two lidded compartments, which taper downwards, for storage and a drawer to the base with lovely dovetailing.
This box would be useful for sewing items, cleaning items, cutlery etc.
The mahogany box measures 34cm w at the top, and 25cm w at the base x 11.5cm d x 20.5cm h excl the handle.
