A fine and rare quality 18th Century Mahogany Armchair of wonderful rich colour and patina in the manner of Thomas Chippendale, having beautifully carved draped acanthus leaf to the the centre and shoulders of the top rail. The splat shaped and carved with C scrolls and leaf work. The burnished arms carved with scrolls and strap work with punched decoration in the Chinese Chippendale Fashion, this flows down the uprights onto the front legs. The front stretcher pierced in the same manner.
Historic repairs have been professionally carried out to each leg at the base with around four inches added, all other parts of the chair are original.
