Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian wingback armchairs emerged during the Edwardian era, spanning the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, a period known for lighter, more comfortable domestic interiors compared to the heavy Victorian style.

Authentic period pieces typically feature a sturdy hardwood frame made from timber such as beech or mahogany, traditionally stuffed with natural fibres like horsehair or wool, and supported by coil spring systems.

Identification relies on examining the frame construction, timber ageing, hand-stitched upholstery techniques, and characteristic design proportions that reflect early 20th-century craftsmanship rather than modern reproductions.

Pairing a classic patterned fabric armchair with minimalist modern lighting, neutral walls, and clean-line contemporary furniture creates a balanced, eclectic aesthetic that grounds the historical piece.

Preservation involves keeping the chair away from direct sunlight to prevent fabric fading and timber drying, using gentle vacuum attachments for cleaning, and occasionally having professional upholstery inspections.
