Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian silver dressing table mirrors from the late 19th century frequently feature elaborate repousse work, Rococo Revival scrolls, foliage, and figurative motifs such as putti. Designed for tabletop use, they typically incorporate an easel back construct made of wood wrapped in velvet or leather.

High-end tabletop mirrors of this era feature sterling silver frame facings stamped over a wooden core structure, paired with thick bevelled glass plates and dark velvet or morocco leather backings.

Authentic British sterling silver from this era bears official hallmarking, including a makers mark, town mark (such as the leopards head for London), lion passant standard mark, and a specific date letter.

An ornate silver mirror serves as a focal point on a bedroom dressing table, marble sideboard top, or bathroom console. Pairing ornate silver metalwork against matte backdrops creates a balanced textural contrast.

Clean the silver frame gently using a soft, lint-free cloth and a specialized silver polish, avoiding harsh chemicals that could seep into the backing. The glass should be cleaned sparingly with a damp cloth to protect the underlying mirror silvering.
