Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

An antique childs chair is a scaled-down version of adult seating produced in past centuries, often reflecting the dominant architectural and furniture styles of the period such as Jacobean or Georgian eras.

These pieces were typically constructed from native hardwoods like oak, elm, or ash, utilising traditional joinery methods such as mortise and tenon joints and wooden pegs.

Authenticity is determined by examining hand-tool marks, traditional joinery without modern fixings, natural timber shrinkage, and appropriate patination and wear consistent with age.

Such pieces can be styled as standalone decorative accents in a living room, placed on a console table, or integrated into a bookshelf display to add historical texture and scale.

Preservation involves maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent timber drying, and occasionally applying microcrystalline wax to nourish the wood surface.
