Beautiful French gilt leaner mirror that could be used as a leaner mirror or could also be hung horizontally in a hall perhaps..
It dates from around 1800.
It has its stunning real gilt (gold leaf) on gesso frame in excellent condition and its gorgeous original foxed mercury glass. Mercury glass was not made after 1840 so is increasingly hard to come by and gives a sparkle and reflection like no other! Whilst there is foxing, the reflection is still very clear.
It has its lovely original panelled back.
