A toilet mirror, or dressing glass, is a free-standing tabletop mirror developed in the 18th century to sit atop a chest of drawers or dressing table for personal grooming.

Georgian toilet mirrors were predominantly constructed using dense mahogany or walnut veneers over pine cores, featuring hand-dovetailed drawers, brass fittings, and silvered glass.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-sawn backboards, original silvered glass exhibiting light oxidisation, hand-turned knobs, and hand-cut dovetail joinery within the base drawers.

Position the mirror atop a bedroom chest of drawers, a hallway console table, or a dressing table to introduce balance, timber warmth, and historical character to modern spaces.

Dust regularly with a soft cotton cloth, apply beeswax sparingly along the mahogany grain to maintain the timber, and clean the glass gently without allowing liquid into the frame joints.
