John Hubbard Antiques has dated this Brass Bound Writing Slope to the 19th Century.
This is an independent date report produced by Sellingantiques using its own proprietary system. The process uses the photographs shown on this page. The system is never told the date the dealer has declared. This report shows that the two dates corroborate.
Inside opens to a beautiful black lamb skiver, with blind and gilt embossing, a lift out pen tray, a pair of quality brass screw topped inkwells and a nib/stamp compartment.

The top board opens to a stationery compartment and a cover, released by lifting one of the inkwell surrounds, conceals two secret drawers with tiny turned wooden knobs. A very tight mechanism with no wear or faults.
