Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Antique wall mirrors reflect the craftsmanship, aesthetic priorities, and societal developments of their eras, evolving from scarce luxury items in medieval times to more accessible, elaborately framed pieces during the Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian periods.

Traditional mirrors often feature hand-carved wooden frames made from oak, mahogany, or pine, sometimes gilded or painted, housing silvered glass plates assembled using traditional joinery and backing methods.

Authenticity is identified by examining the backing boards, foxing or silver oxidation on the glass plate, hand-cut screws or nails, and the consistency of the frames patina and wear patterns.

This piece can be positioned as a focal point above a mantelpiece or console table to bounce natural light around the room, contrasting clean modern lines with historical texture.

Preservation requires avoiding direct sunlight, maintaining stable indoor humidity to protect the frame and backing, and cleaning the glass gently with a soft microfibre cloth without harsh chemical sprays.
