Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Windsor chairs originated in the English countryside during the early 18th century, developing from traditional wheelwright techniques where spindles and legs were tenoned directly into a solid wooden seat.

They are typically constructed using a mix of timbers, often featuring a solid elm or ash seat, yew or fruitwood for the bentwood bow and arms, and beech or birch for the spindles and legs.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-turned spindle variations, adze marks on the saddle seat, shrinkage cracks, and traditional wedge joints securing the legs through the seat base.

Placing the chair as a standalone accent piece against a minimalist neutral wall allows the natural wood grain and traditional craftsmanship to serve as a focal point.

Maintain stable indoor humidity levels away from direct heat sources and occasionally feed the timber with a traditional beeswax polish to protect the finish.
