Georgian dressing mirrors emerged during the 18th century, primarily designed to sit on top of a dressing chest or table for personal grooming.

Cabinet makers typically used dense hardwoods such as mahogany or walnut, often featuring fine cross-banding, boxwood stringing, and brass hardware.

Authenticity is assessed through hand-cut dovetail joints, old secondary timbers like pine or oak, original mirror glass with foxing, and period-appropriate hand-forged fixings.

This item can be placed atop a contemporary sideboard or console table to introduce historical contrast, texture, and a functional reflective surface.

Keep the object away from direct sunlight and humidity fluctuations, clean the wood exclusively with microfibre cloths and high-grade beeswax, and avoid abrasive glass cleaners.
