FAQs

Gothic revival and traditional Gothic furniture are characterised by architectural elements such as pointed arches, tracery, crockets, and heavy use of solid timbers like oak.

These chairs were typically constructed using solid hardwoods such as oak, walnut, or mahogany, often paired with upholstered leather or fabric slip seats.

Authenticity is determined by examining traditional joinery methods such as mortise and tenon joints, hand-carved details, timber patina, and signs of age-appropriate wear.

Pairing these historic chairs with a clean-lined contemporary dining table creates a striking contrast that highlights their intricate architectural woodwork.

Maintain the timber by keeping it away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity fluctuations, applying microcrystalline wax periodically to nourish the wood.
