Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

William IV style bridges the Regency and early Victorian periods, characterised by robust classical proportions, heavy architectural elements, and rich mahogany timbers often featuring bold flame veneer.

Authentic pieces typically utilise solid mahogany and flame mahogany veneers over a secondary timber backing, assembled with traditional joinery and fitted with heavy plate glass mirrors.

Authenticity is indicated by period-appropriate foxing on the glass plate, hand-cut joinery, old pine or oak secondary woods, and the deep patina inherent to nineteenth-century polish.

It functions effectively as a focal point when hung above a mantelpiece or paired with contemporary minimalist furniture to create a striking contrast between old and new.

Preserve the frame by avoiding direct sunlight and applying micro-wax periodically, while cleaning the glass with a soft, lint-free cloth and mild solution applied to the cloth rather than the mirror itself.
