Octagonal Coromandel Inlaid Card Box 1850

Description

A superb octagonal tunbridge ware card/games box made from coromandel with several of inlaid woods creating a patterned perspective cube array. Typically called Van Dyke some of it’s woods include rosewood, mahogany, satinwood and walnut. It’s banded in tulipwood and ebony around the box. The interior comprises of its original lining with sections for gaming materials and cards.

A super collectors example dating to Victorian 1850. Comes with fully functioning lock and key.
