This 1930s Art Deco overmantel mirror brings period character to a modern interior scheme. Constructed from clear and peach-tinted mirror glass, the piece combines silver and peach tones with frameless clip construction. The design incorporates etched garlands across the upper central section, flanked by vertical peach glass side panels decorated with geometric star engravings. A small dark mount sits at the top centre edge of the glass plate. The mirror measures 99 cm high and 137 cm wide. Positioned above a living room fireplace or drawing room mantelpiece, it reflects light while adding period styling to a wall. The construction suits placement in a 1930s-themed interior or a contemporary space seeking vintage decorative details. Home placement requires standard wall-mounting fixings suited to heavy glass objects.

Art Deco mirrors from the 1930s typically feature frameless designs held together with metal clips, bevelled edges, geometric silhouettes, and decorative cut-glass etchings such as ribbons or garlands. Coloured glass accents in peach, amber, or blue were frequently incorporated along the borders.

These mirrors were constructed using silvered plate glass mounted on timber backings, held in place with metal edge clips. Etched decorative patterns were produced using wheel-cut or acid-etched techniques, while border elements utilised tinted glass.

Authentic period pieces exhibit wooden backboards, original chrome or nickel-plated securing clips, subtle silvering oxidisation near the edges, and crisp wheel-cut engravings rather than modern printed patterns.

A period mirror can be positioned above a fireplace mantelpiece, sideboard, or console table to introduce architectural geometry and reflect light. The soft hues of peach or tinted glass complement both modern neutral palettes and traditional dark wood furniture.

Clean vintage glass using a soft microfiber cloth dampened slightly with water or a mild glass cleaner applied directly to the cloth. Avoid moisture contact with the backing edges and wooden elements to prevent desilvering.
