Its About Time has dated this Antique Mahogany Wall Clock to the 1860s.
The restored dial is signed Smith of London. The rear of the dial is also signed Smith and has a repair written. The small fusee movement has a gut line from the barrel, the pendulum is substantial with a lead filled brass faced 'bob'. Samuel Smith of Newington Causeway opened his first shop in 1851 and then his second in 1871. There is also an attractive repair label inside the hinged side door. This clock has just been finished and will be ready for sale this weekend. Reserve now !!
