A beautiful rare oval shaped snuff box circa 1820 , probably french. Stamped on the rim of the lid . Yellow metal and tortoiseshell inlaid with silver and mother of Pearl . Depicting scenes of a chariot with three figures , one figure having a winged cherub holding a torch also holding the arm of one of the other figures which resembles a lady . The other bearded man figure has his arm around the lady . The box itself is nicely engraved and chased all over and on the base . It’s fine quality and excellent condition would enhance any collection of boxes .
