A fine Queen Anne period side chair in walnut, the tall S shaped back with lightly carved toprail over an inverted baluster shaped splat with carved scrolls, over a seat frame with rounded corners and drop-in seat on cabriole supports front and back, the front ones having carved C-scrolls, on pad feet. English circa 1710.
Condition: Excellent, the chair is solid and robust and comfortable to sit on. The seat blocks have at some point been replaced. The timber has a wonderful colour and patina. The seat has been recently upholstered using yellow silk damask.
