Description

A Regency penwork box on original foliate brass feet. Profuse lacquered flower and vine with penwork decoration on all sides which is worn through use but the whole remains extremely attractive. Evidence or an old crack to the top but not obvious.Original brass side rings with fruit and shell . Ebony lock escutcheon. Original working brass lock WITH ORIGINAL KEY. The now void interior was probably fitted either as a work box or for playing cards but now lends itself for use as a jewellery box.
