Spinka & Co has dated this French Giltwood Wall Mirror to the 19th Century.
The top is crowned by a high-relief rocaille cartouche centre, flanked by sweeping asymmetrical acanthus leaves, delicate floral sprays, and trailing floral swags that cascade gracefully over the top corners. The rectangular frame features a rich, multi-tiered profile: An outer frame running with continuous leafy scrollwork, a classic beaded inner sight edge -pearls, and artfully curved upper shoulders decorated with subtle corner spandrels and scrolling flourishes that accentuate the arch.

This antique mirror retains its original gilt finish, presenting a warm, golden hue with light, original glass and original backboards fitted with four wall brackets. The glass is scribed 11·3·69.
