Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Regency Revival design refers to late 19th and 20th-century furniture crafted in the manner of the English Regency period (18111830). It is characterised by neoclassical symmetry, dark hardwoods like mahogany or rosewood, sabre legs, and classical motifs such as cross-back splats and reeded columns.

Primary woods include mahogany, rosewood, and occasionally satinwood, often paired with brass inlays or mounts. Seats were historically woven with cane or upholstered in fabrics such as velvet, silk damask, or leather.

Revival pieces exhibit early-to-mid 20th-century construction techniques, such as machine-sawn timber underneath, uniform screws, and modern upholstery padding, while replicating 19th-century proportions, sabre legs, and reeded framework.

These armchairs function well as carver seats at the ends of a dining table, as flanking accent chairs beside a console table, or paired alongside a writing desk in a home office to contrast classic woodwork against contemporary backdrops.

Timber frames should be dusted regularly with a microfibre cloth and treated periodically with beeswax paste polish. Upholstery requires vacuuming with a soft brush attachment and professional spot cleaning to avoid damaging the pile.
