In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This pair of late Victorian library armchairs dates from around 1890 in the Victorian style. Each chair comprises a solid walnut frame with a rich brown timber tone, paired with vintage red leather upholstery secured by studded brass trim around the seat and armrests. Key details include padded curved crest rails, carved scroll arm supports, horizontal wooden mouldings beneath the backrests, stout turned and segmented front legs, and slightly swept rear legs. Minor wear appears on the red leather surfaces, while the polished frames display a clean, waxed finish. Each armchair measures 89 cm high, 66 cm wide, and 61 cm deep. These large seating pieces suit a gentleman's library, a home study, or a traditional living room as fireside chairs.

Late Victorian walnut armchairs crafted around 1890 often feature turned front legs, rich scroll-carved woodwork, and low-slung curved backs designed for comfort in libraries and study spaces.

Desk and library chairs from this period were typically constructed using dense hardwoods such as walnut or mahogany, upholstered in natural leather, and finished with brass studding.

Authentic period chairs display traditional joinery techniques, natural patina to the timber, period-appropriate brass tacking, and turned timber leg profiles characteristic of 19th-century craftsmanship.

Positioning a pair of red leather armchairs opposite a streamlined neutral sofa or framing a executive desk creates visual contrast and adds historical depth to contemporary rooms.

Keep leather armchairs away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent drying. Clean the timber with a soft cloth and beeswax, and apply a dedicated leather conditioner periodically.
