M Lees and Sons has dated this George III Library Armchair to the Georgian era.
. The mahogany arms with scroll terminals having brass ‘close-nailed’ studded red leather pads , the arched top back with corresponding brass studded red leather upholstery. The red leather dipped ‘saddle’ seat with brass studs to the front rail .

The frame in excellent strong condition with no damage or repairs , minor historic repair to one arm , and having achieved a rich colour and patina . The old red leather upholstery having a well-worn atmospheric surface and patina, though has some cracking and minor repaired rips to seat and back panel.
A bold armchair of impressive scale and design being deep-seated and of country-house scale and proportions.
