A Large Regency Period Country House Cheval Mirror in the Manner of Gillow

Description

Made from Cuban mahogany, the cheval mirror has turned uprights that are supported on an elegant splay base that retains the original casters. The mirror plate is enclosed by a cross banded frame and the mirror is of excellent quality and colour. The mirror retains the original adjustable candle sconces and is in the manner and style of Gillow. From its scale, it would have originally been commissioned for a good country house in the early 19th century. Circa 1810
