This 19th-century Rococo Revival open armchair follows a French Chateau design style, constructed from walnut with a gilt wood finish and silk upholstery in gold and pink. The giltwood frame displays detailed carving throughout, including a C-scroll cresting at the top of the oval backrest, carved armrests with padded supports, and turned front legs fitted with original brass castors. The seat and back are covered in a silk brocade fabric featuring woven floral patterns in pink, green, orange, and white tones, accented by gold thread detail. The gilding on the frame presents an aged appearance. Measuring 111 cm high, 66 cm wide, and 68 cm deep, this seating piece works well in a traditional living room, bedroom, or study as an occasional chair.
