Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco cabinets, prominent in the 1920s and 1930s, are characterised by bold geometric forms, symmetrical proportions, and decorative wood veneers. Cabinetmakers often incorporated stepped profiles and stylized handles to reflect modern industrial aesthetics.

Epstein pieces prominently featured figured wood veneers, particularly burr walnut, blonde walnut, and mahogany. Construction typically included solid hardwood framing, book-matched veneer panelling, and custom metal or Bakelite handles.

Authentic pieces exhibit high-grade book-matched veneers, heavy solid construction, and era-specific hardware such as Bakelite, polished brass, or chrome handles. Look for precise hand-finishing, dovetailed drawer joints, and smooth-running hinges indicative of 1930s British craftsmanship.

Position the cabinet as a focal piece against a neutral wall to highlight the natural grain of the burr walnut veneer. Style the top surface minimally with modern ceramics, framed artwork, or structural glassware to contrast vintage and contemporary elements.

Keep the cabinet away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent the veneer from drying or bleaching. Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish occasionally to nourish the wood surface.
