K0598 A large XIXth century giltwood wall mirror, having arched glass with minor imperfections in finely carved, moulded and gilded frame with leafy scrolls to the base adorn with floral crest to the top. This antique mirror retains its gilt with touching up over the years and replacement backboards. Over time, parts of the original gilt finish have been touched up, likely to refresh areas of age-related wear. This has been sympathetically done and does not detract from the overall visual impact, instead contributing to the mirror’s layered history, charm and antique character. Very attractive and well made piece with wonderfully atmospheric and authentic antique look. No loose elements, solid and sturdy. No woodworm. Soft and mellow colour, good patina..
