This elegant early 19th-century mirror is set within a richly ornamented giltwood frame of strong architectural form. The frame is surmounted by a bold stepped cornice with dentil moulding, above fluted uprights and a finely detailed inner border decorated with scrolling foliate and vine motifs, all delicately picked out in contrasting dark detailing. The proportions and restrained classical ornament place the mirror firmly within the late Georgian / early Regency period.The original plate is bevelled and of generous scale, offering excellent depth and light reflection, making it particularly effective in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
