A very fine 18th Century Mahogany Armchair in the Manner of Thomas Chippendale, of the most outstanding colour.
Beautifully designed and crafted with gothic shaping to the splat and delicately carved decoration with central motif, scrolls and foliate. The arms carved with Cabochon to the terminals.
A fabulous chair in mint condition thought to have come from an estate in the Scottish Borders. Circa 1760.
A Similar Single Chair in Nostell Priory thought to be from the Chippendale workshop is documented in Christopher Gilberts book on the subject. A similar Chair back patten is also illustrated in Chippendales Director.
