Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Triptych or tri-fold dressing mirrors gained widespread popularity in 19th and early 20th-century France. Designed to sit atop dressing tables or vanity cabinets, their three-panel construction allowed users to view themselves from multiple angles simultaneously.

These mirrors were primarily constructed using solid brass framing, silvered glass mirror panels, and cast metal hinges. Architectural elements such as fluted columns, urn finials, and ball feet were frequently incorporated using cast or pressed brass.

Authentic period pieces display hand-assembled hinges, natural surface oxidisation or patina within the metal crevices, and heavier solid brass construction. The mirror glass may also exhibit faint silvering degradation or micro-bevelled edges characteristic of period manufacturing.

Place the mirror atop a bedroom chest of drawers, a bathroom vanity counter, or a hallway sideboard. The reflective glass and warm brass tone balance modern neutral palettes while introducing architectural height and depth.

Dust the brass frame regularly using a dry, soft cloth, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners that strip natural patination. Glass cleaner should be applied carefully to a microfibre cloth rather than sprayed directly onto the mirror to prevent moisture from seeping behind the frame.
