Technical Description
A magnificent 18th century Baluster Sweetmeat Glass dating to c1740-50.
It has a double ogee bowl with a folded rim and vertical rib moulding. A superb stem, consisting of a double merese, above an air beaded angular knop, over a basal blade knop. The domed foot is also folded and vertically rib moulded.
This is a feature rich glass with the folded rim being very rare and very much there for spoon protection.
Certainly, one of the best sweetmeats we have had, and a testament to Georgian era tableware.
