We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Air twist glasses are 18th-century British stemware pieces featuring spiralled air channels encased inside the glass stem, a decorative technique popularised between 1740 and 1770.

Glassmakers created air twist stems by inserting prongs into a molten glass gather to introduce air pockets, which were then drawn out and twisted as the stem was formed.

Authentic pieces typically feature heavy lead glass, characteristic greyish tinting, evidence of hand-finishing, and either a rough pontil mark or a polished pontil scar on the underside of the conical foot.

These decorative glass pieces are best styled inside glass-fronted cabinets, positioned on illuminated sideboard tops, or arranged in small groups on bookshelves to highlight their internal twist details.

Clean gently by hand using warm water and mild liquid soap, avoiding chemical detergents, hot water thermal shock, and modern dishwashers.
