This clear lead glass champagne flute dates to the Georgian period around 1750 during the reign of George II. The piece comprises a slender trumpet bowl featuring a defined honeycomb moulded lower section, a multi-spiral air twist stem, and a flat conical foot. Hand-blown in England from clear glass, the design exhibits excellent condition with age-related wear, showing no chips, cracks or restoration. Measuring 21.5 cm high, the glassware is suitable for display on a sideboard top in an English country house setting. The transparent vessel stands vertically on a level surface, revealing its elongated profile and reflective surfaces clearly to anyone observing the item from the side.

Developed in Britain during the mid-18th century, air twist glassware features decorative spiral designs within the stem, created by trapping air bubbles and drawing them out during the glassblowing process.

These glasses were crafted using heavy lead crystal glass, valued for its clarity, resonance, and weight, which allowed glassmakers to manipulate internal air pockets with precision.

Authentic pieces typically display hand-blown characteristics, including a pontil mark on the base, minor irregularities in the spiralling stem, and natural wear patterns on the underside of the foot.

Displaying historic glassware inside a illuminated glazed cabinet, upon a contemporary bar cart, or arranged on a sideboard introduces historical context to entertaining spaces.

Hand wash gently in tepid water with mild liquid soap using a soft cloth, avoiding dishwashers, extreme temperature fluctuations, and abrasive cleaning materials.
