Rare 18th Century Antique Cheshire Armchair – Listed

A very rare design of a country antique armchair that dates to 1800, listed and described in the wonderful Victor Chinnery’s book on traditional English furniture. Noted as being from the Cheshire area, this country antique armchair has spindle back and arm supports with an original rushed seat. Additionally the armchair has turn out wings, sometimes referred to as wool winders, but more probable for a drape to be hung around the person in the chair to keep out drafts, like a lambing chair. In superb, complete and very original condition and a beautiful colour. A rare model.
