Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Edwardian collector cabinet filing drawer unit originates from 1910 and takes A4 sheets within its twelve shallow drawers arranged in two columns. The piece is constructed from oak with a medium brown timber finish and a dark-painted exterior, complemented by brass cup handles and integrated label holders on each drawer. Visible details include horizontal moulding lines across the drawer fronts and a small keyhole on the left column. The dimensions are 46 cm high, 76 cm wide and 27 cm deep. Suiting an office desk, this versatile item serves well for organising paperwork or small collections in a study or library setting today. The compact proportions allow it to sit comfortably upon a larger table surface while providing structured storage across the multiple tiers.

FAQs

Originally produced for late 19th and early 20th-century offices, banks, and private studies, these compact wooden cabinets were designed to store documents, index cards, or small specimen collections.

Most vintage document cabinets were constructed from solid hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, or pine, featuring brass cup handles, index card label holders, and dovetail jointing.

Genuine period pieces display natural friction wear on internal drawer runners, original brass cup pulls secured with slot-headed screws, and aged timber featuring historical patina.

Position the cabinet on a home office desk, console table, or sideboard to serve as functional organisation for stationery and paperwork while adding historic texture to the room.

Dust regularly with a dry cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish occasionally to nourish the timber and preserve the finish, avoiding harsh liquid cleaners.
