Fine George II Mahogany Armchair

Description

An outstanding and rare George II Mahogany Armchair of good colour, in superb and very original condition. Having wonderfully carved foliate top rail, fluted uprights, and pierced splat with carved decoration. The beautifully shaped arms with scroll carved terminals, the front rail having gadroon decoration to the bottom edge leading into the cabriole legs with boldly carved acanthus leaf and claw and ball feet. Circa 1755.
