Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

FAQs

Windsor chairs originated in England during the early 18th century, characterised by a construction method where the legs and back spindles are driven directly into a solid sculpted wooden seat.

Traditional Windsor chairs typically combine multiple woods for structural integrity, often utilising elm for the solid carved seat, ash or oak for the bentwood bows and legs, and beech for the spindles.

Authentic pieces often exhibit traditional joinery techniques such as wedged through-tenons, hand-carved saddle seats, minor asymmetry from hand tools, and natural patina consistent with age.

Windsor chairs can be paired with a sleek, contemporary dining table to create a balanced mix of rustic warmth and modern minimalism, or integrated seamlessly into a traditional country scheme.

Preserve antique wooden furniture by maintaining stable indoor humidity levels away from direct heat sources and sunlight, occasionally treating the wood with microcrystalline wax to nourish the finish.
