Gilt and Gesso has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
A fine quality English country house aesthetic, 19th century button back salon or bedroom chair, a versatile day or bedroom chair of considerable design appeal, often known as a conversation seat due to its oversize, wide oval seat.

The elegant, shapely chair is in excellent structural condition, retaining its original shape and rigidity, supported by mahogany turned front legs and swept rear supports, upon original brass castors, please note at the time of photographs, 1 castor has an incorrect wheel, this is already being addressed at our workshop with a replacement brass wheel.

The chair had been partially prep-upholstered, requiring the buyer’s final upholstery choice, whereas the current presentation is equally stylish and popular with many, sold in its current upholstered state.
