Comb Back Windsor Armchair

A rather nice early windsor comb back armchair, attributed to John Pitt of Buckinghamshire.
 
Crafted from ash and fruitwood with an elm seat, circa 1740.
 
The chair sits tremendously well, with great patina and natural colour throughout.
 
 
John Pitt is one of the earliest known Windsor chair makers and possibly the earliest maker with chairs that survive, one of which bears his maker’s label.
 
 
Structurally sound.
