This 19th-century Victorian wall mirror is made from mahogany with mirror glass in a warm brown colour. The oval wall hanging mirror has a moulded oval frame and an ornate carved scrollwork crest with an acanthus leaf pediment. The mercury glass has very minor spotting and a wonderful sparkle, and the dark timber frame shows very little age-related wear. The piece measures 73 cm high, 47 cm wide, and 5 cm deep. In a home today, this wall mirror suits placement above a sideboard in an English Country House interior. It can be hung on a wall to add traditional character and reflect light in a hallway, dining room, or living room.
