This single George III chair is constructed of top-quality solid mahogany and features a shaped top rail, with a finely executed pierced central fretwork back splat, decorated with an embossed central floral cartouche. The back splat is flanked by vertical moulded rails, securing the seat frame, which is decorated with twin-moulding.� The Georgian dining chair features a drop-in seat.� The chair frame has been constructed in the traditional manner, with mortise and tenon joints, finished with pegged dowels. The seat has been newly upholstered in top quality dark red leather, finished with traditional hessian backing to the underside - it is therefore in excellent and clean condition, with no marks.
