Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Gillows furniture is characterized by exceptional craftsmanship, high-quality timber selection, refined proportions, and innovative mechanical or functional designs that set a standard for British cabinet making.

These armchairs typically feature dense hardwoods such as mahogany or walnut for the structural frame, combined with traditional horsehair stuffing, webbed upholstery supports, and brass castors.

Authentic pieces often exhibit maker stamps, hand-cut joinery, traditional hand-turned wooden components, hand-forged or brass hardware, and natural ageing consistent with historical manufacturing techniques.

An antique armchair functions effectively as a statement reading chair in a living room, study, or bedroom, pairing well with contemporary minimalist furnishings to create a balanced, layered aesthetic.

Preservation involves keeping the piece away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent wood splitting and fabric fading, alongside gentle vacuuming and professional upholstery cleaning when necessary.
