A Regency mahogany folding library steps armchair. The carved top rail above bold scroll arms, cane seat with carved front rail, standing on sabre legs. The chair back folds over by releasing the catch(see photo) to form four steps. Good country house colour with excellent brass fittings, there is an old repair to the left hand back foot but the chair stands very firm and now has a suede squab cushion. The height of the top step is 72cm. English Circa 1820.
