A Very Rare Pair of 20th Century Mahogany Pier Mirrors

Description

A very rare pair of 20th Century mahogany pier mirrors of exceptional quality, finely hand carved with gorgeously rich patination and fine grain. The bevelled mirror glass plate of oval form is set within a stunning moulded and fluted mahogany frame surmounted with an elaborate shaped and centred crest composition with scrolling acanthus leaves and ruffle detail. Raised over panelled frieze with beautiful foliate, applied flowerhead paterae and c-scroll motifs above a moulded, shaped shelf with a gorgeous scallop border raised over shaped apron adorned with a further exquisitely carved arrangement of scrolls, flowerhead paterae and gadroon detail.
