Pair of Louis XVI Style Giltwood Chairs

• French circa 1900-20

• Original bright gilt finish

• Carved frames decorated with roses, acanthus and guilloche

• Raised on hand turned legs

• Original faded dusky pink striped upholstery

• Upholstery is clean, decorative and usable

• Chairs are firm and sturdy

• Some traces of extinct woodworm; fully treated as a precaution

• Seat height is 44.5cm (17.5”)

This pair of exquisite Louis XVI style giltwood chairs, French circa 1900-20, boast an original bright gilt finish on a hand carved frame adorned with roses, acanthus, and guilloche, raised on hand turned fluted legs. The original upholstery features a faded dusky pink stripe, which remains clean, decorative, and usable. The chairs are firm and sturdy in their entirety, with some traces of extinct woodworm that has been fully treated as a precaution.
