Description

A stunning antique Regency gilt wood over mantle mirror. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1830-40’s period.

The quality is outstanding, this has a beautiful and quite unusual design. There is an impressive overhanging cornice, the frieze below has beautiful carved gilt mounts of floral rosettes, coats of arms and a wonderful shell in the centre. The sides have neo classical columns with more fine caving at the top, middle and bottom. The mirror has a bevelled edge and only some extremely minor wear to the silvered backing near the edges.

This is in excellent condition for its age, with just the right amount of patina and wear.
