Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian furniture spans the reigns of the first four British monarchs named George, characterised by classical proportions, sophisticated craftsmanship, and a transition from heavier walnut to refined woods like mahogany and laburnum.

Cabinetmakers during the Georgian period primarily utilised native and imported hardwoods such as mahogany, oak, walnut, and highly figured regional timbers like laburnum, often paired with traditional joinery methods.

Authenticity is determined by examining hand-cut joinery, timber patination, tool marks, period-appropriate upholstery techniques, and historical wear patterns consistent with eighteenth-century construction.

Integrating period seating into contemporary spaces creates textural contrast; pair a wooden antique chair with a minimalist modern table or use it as a standalone accent piece against neutral walls.

Maintain antique wooden furniture by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber splitting, and apply microcrystalline wax periodically to nourish the surface finish.
