The harlequin (matched) set of French oak kitchen chairs comprises two armchairs and six side chairs. The side chairs feature a shaped top rail with a floral carved cartouche and two further shaped rails below, in the form of a ladder-back design between shaped upright supports. The chairs incorporate �drop-in� rush seats, all of which are in good overall condition (the seats are currently screwed to the seat frame). The shaped seat frame is decorated with a floral carved cartouche. The seats are raised on fine cabriole legs to the front, with straight legs to the rear, all of which are united by turned twin stretchers for added strength and stability. Likewise, the two armchairs are decorated with floral carved cartouches to the top rail, with two further shaped rails below, in the form of a ladder-back design in-between shaped upright supports. The chairs backs are secured by sturdy shaped arms, raised on formed vertical supports.
