This is a fine quality antique English Chippendale wall mirror, constructed during the late Georgian period, in red walnut and encompassed by a decoratively shaped frame, circa 1790, in excellent condition.
The frame incorporates an old mirror, possibly replaced during the Victorian period, which is in good condition. The mirror is bordered by a decorative internal red walnut sectional moulded mount. The walnut wall mirror measures 2ft 9½” high x 1ft 6½” wide. The back of the mirror incorporates pine vertical backboards; new hanging hooks and string have been attached for securely hanging the wall mirror.
This small Chippendale wall mirror would look superb in most rooms, such as the hallway, living room, bathroom or bedroom. It would certainly grace either a contemporary or traditional home and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
Condition Report:
This is a fine quality antique English Chippendale wall mirror, constructed during the late Georgian period, in red walnut and encompassed by a decoratively shaped frame, circa 1790, in excellent condition. The fretwork frame is intact, secure and in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks, to the leading edges of the frame, but nothing significant, given the age of the item. The mirror is likely an old replacement, possibly Victorian and shows minor signs of foxing. There are no cracks or chips to the mirror. The back of the mirror features pine backboards, with new hanging hooks and string for securely hanging the wall mirror.
